Physiology Faculty Position

In a pioneering international initiative, Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medical College established Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar (WCM-Q) in 2001 through a unique partnership with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.

We are seeking a physiologist with substantial teaching experience in an academic medical schools/centers. This individual is expected to teach in the integrated Foundational Sciences courses of the undergraduate medical program at Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar.

The successful applicant will serve as a member of a team of physiologists in the planning and delivery of physiology content in a multi-discipline, systems-based medical curriculum. In addition, the successful applicant should contribute to the education of medical students by providing instruction that will allow learners to acquire a competence with the relationship of normal processes of various systems of the human body, and the integration and regulation of these systems in health and disease.

Required Qualifications

  • The applicant must have Ph.D., MD or equivalent degree in physiology or a closely related discipline.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of significant physiology teaching experience in a university or academic health system.

  • Proficiency in all areas of human physiology. 

  • A record of excellence in teaching and scholarship.

  • Experience with several learning modalities such as lectures, problem-based learning (PBL), team-based learning, small group sessions, and journal clubs.

  • Experience in teaching to culturally diverse student population.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to applicants who provide evidence of their successful involvement in the development and delivery of innovative approaches to teaching and who demonstrate their strong record of excellence in and commitment to teaching.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who provide evidence of their successful involvement in scholarly activity.

  • Essential skill in administration is preferred.
